🧩 Passport combinations that unlock the world

Thirty passport pairings, ranked by how much of the planet they actually open. Every number below is computed from the full 199×199 entry matrix — not from a marketing brochure.

The ceiling nobody talks about

The best possible pair of passports on Earth opens 183 of 199 destinations. Add a third passport and you gain exactly one more. Add a fourth and you gain nothing. The world has a hard ceiling at 184/199 — about 92% — and no amount of citizenship shopping moves it.

The reason is a short list of borders that admit almost nobody:

The number after each country is how many of the world's 199 passports it admits without a pre-arranged visa. Three of them admit exactly one: their own.

How these numbers are calculated

Coverage counts destinations you can enter without arranging a visa in advance — visa-free, visa on arrival, or eTA. e-Visa and visa-required destinations are excluded, because they need paperwork before you fly. Each passport's own country is counted as open. Synergy measures what the second passport adds on top of the stronger one: a pairing with +0 synergy means both documents open exactly the same doors.
