VisaUnlocks is a free reference site about passports and visa requirements. By using it you accept the terms below. They are written in plain English on purpose.

This is reference information, not immigration advice
Nothing on VisaUnlocks is legal, immigration or travel advice, and using the site creates no advisory relationship. Entry rules change without notice, are applied at the discretion of border officers, and depend on facts we cannot see — your travel history, the exact document you hold, your purpose of travel, onward tickets and much else.
Always confirm with the official source before you book or travel: the embassy, consulate or immigration authority of the country you are entering. Where we know the official portal, we link to it and show it ahead of any partner offer. If our page and an official source disagree, the official source is right.
Accuracy and availability
We build on the open Passport Index dataset and hand-verify our 32 visa-unlock rules against government sources, each with its conditions and citation on the rule page. We work carefully, but we do not warrant that the site is complete, current or error-free, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The site is provided "as is".

Affiliate links and how we are paid
VisaUnlocks is free to use. Some outbound links to partners (eSIM, flights, accommodation, tickets) are affiliate links, marked with a disclosure where they appear. If you buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Commission never decides what we tell you. The official government option is always shown before any paid option, and we do not accept payment to change a visa verdict, a ranking or a recommendation.
Using our content and data
Our datasets are open. The rankings, visa matrix and unlock rules published on /data/ are available under CC BY 4.0 — reuse them commercially or not, just credit VisaUnlocks with a link.
Passport cover artwork. Our passport covers are original vector reconstructions built from public-domain and Creative Commons sources; unless a cover's source notes otherwise, they are released under CC BY-SA 4.0, which means derivatives must carry the same licence. State emblems appear in a referential, descriptive context and remain the property of the states concerned; nothing here is an official document or a template for one.
Page text and design. Our written guides, page copy and site design are ours, and are not covered by the licences above. Quote us with attribution; do not republish pages wholesale.
Automated access. Use the static API at /data/ rather than scraping — it is free, unauthenticated and unthrottled. Please do not hammer the site with automated traffic that degrades it for other people, and do not use it to build a service that simply re-serves our pages.
If you subscribe to route updates or request a report, we use your address only to send what you asked for. Unsubscribe at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what we store and how to have it deleted.
Links to other sites
We link to government portals and commercial partners. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, pricing, terms or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VisaUnlocks is not liable for loss arising from use of the site — including denied boarding, refused entry, missed travel, visa fees or costs incurred in reliance on information here. You are responsible for verifying entry requirements for your own trip. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top always shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
